I got a call from Ryan T the other day, letting me know that he's been thinking about the film, and is getting some ideas. He's busy promoting and screening his own film, A FAMILY FINDS ENTERTAINMENT, and a new one he has in the works, so he's not sure yet how much time he can devote to LOL, but he thinks he'll know more in the next week or two. I'm really hoping his film plays the Chicago Underground Film Festival, which would give him a reason to be here in Chicago in August. That would be ideal. Then we could talk in person, rather than over the phone. I have only shared physical space with Ryan for about an hour, when I was in New Orleans a few months ago. Other than that, all my communication with him has been via email and cell phone, and I guess in a sense, through his film, which I have watched multiple times over the past few months, and which continues to inspire me.

Since Kevin left for Berlin at the beginning of the year, I haven't even heard his voice other than through his songs that he posts on his site. All my communication with him has been through email. But he will be back in the states in July, and we can talk on the phone again until he comes to Chicago in August.

I think these long distance relationships with my collaborators are getting the film off to a good start, and hopefully we can all come together and share the same space in August.
